The book launch of the collective volume entitled “The Dialogue Between Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox Churches” was successfully held,
On May 12, 2017 in Thessaloniki, at the School of Theology of the University of Thessaloniki. Round table participants included Dr. Stylianos Tsompanidis, Associate Professor of the School of Theology of the University of Thessaloniki and Mrs. Chrsitine Chaillot the Editor of the volume. The meeting was greeted by Dr. Panayotis Skaltsis, President and Professor of the School of Theology of the University of Thessaloniki, while it was chaired by Dr. Pantelis Kalaitzidis, Director of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies and attended by the Vicar Archimandrite Iakovos Athanasiou, representing the Metropolitan Anthimos of Thessaloniki. The event took place during the courses “Ecumenical Movement” and “Interreligious Dialogue,” and in the framework of the “Week of Theology and Art” of the School of Theology of the University of Thessaloniki.

On May 13, 2017 in Volos, at Park Hotel during the conference on New Testament Orthodox Hermeneutics. Round Table participants included Dr. Dimitrios Moschos, Associate Professor of the School of Theology of the University of Athens and member of the Board of Directors of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies and Mrs. Christine Chaillot, the Editor of the volume. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Nikolaos Asproulis, Deputy Director of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies.

On May 18, 2017 in Athens, at the School of Theology of the University of Athens. Round Table participants included, Bishop Paul, Coptic Church in Greece (Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria), Bishop Komitas Hohanian, Armenian Church in Greece, Dr. Dimitrios Moschos, Associate Professor of the School of Theology of the University of Athens and member of the Board of Directors of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies, Dr. Nikos Kouremenos, Post-Doctoral Fellow of Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Academic Associate of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies and Mrs. Christine Chaillot, the Editor of the volume. The event was organized under the auspices of the Dean’s Office of the School of Theology of the University of Athens.

All the meetings, especially in Thessaloniki and Athens, were attended by an important number of students, University Professors, clergy and laypeople as well as members of the Oriental Orthodox communities in Greece, while the participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the panelists and the editor of the volume about the difficulties and the future of the dialogue between the two Church families.
